In honor of the 101st birth anniversary of the legendary tabla maestro, Pandit Kishan Maharaj, the International Music Centre proudly presents a unique workshop series, "ताल-प्रसंग"

Led by the esteemed Pt. Puran Maharaj, a renowned exponent of the Banaras Gharana, this workshop offers an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the intricacies of tabla playing. Learn from a master and experience the rich heritage of Indian classical music.

Under the guidance of Pt. Puran Maharaj, a direct disciple of the legendary Pandit Kanthe Maharaj "लय-शिरोमणि", you will have the privilege of learning from one of the most respected tabla players of present era. Pt. Puran Maharaj's expertise in the Banaras Gharana, known for its intricate rhythms and explosive bols, will be passed on to participants through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations.

On the concluding day, September 29th, witness a captivating tabla solo performance by Avantika Maharaj and Sri. Deo Narayan Mishra, accompanied by the melodious harmonies of Sri Mohit Sahani on the harmonium. This concert will showcase the culmination of the workshop's learnings and offer a glimpse into the future of tabla music.
